Why You Should Visit

A two-day, hands-on event devoted to moss terrariums at the Forest Exhibition Hall of Kobe Municipal Forest Botanical Garden. Twelve terrarium makers from the Kansai area gather to sell their work, moss and plants, and run six kinds of terrarium workshops, from an LED-lit Mosslight class to a ¥2,000 walk-in session. A quiz rally around five points in the garden earns you a limited-edition tin badge. Pair it with a walk through the Rokko woods; a good fit for moss enthusiasts and anyone who wants to bring home a small piece of green.

FAQ

Can I enjoy the event without joining a workshop?
Admission alone covers the sales area and the quiz rally. If you want to try a workshop without booking, the walk-in "Play with Moss! Moss Terrarium" session (¥2,000) is available on the day.
Can children take part?
Children can join the quiz rally and the walk-in workshop. The fern and moss terrarium workshop requires an adult to assist children below 5th grade; age conditions for the other advance-booking workshops are not stated on the official site.
Is it held if it rains?
The official site does not state a rain policy. The main venue, the Forest Exhibition Hall, is indoors, but the plaza stalls and the moss lecture/field walk depend on the weather, so check the garden's official site or Instagram on the day.
