Wood and Food Cycle Market (Hyogo Forest and Wood Use Fair):

The Oct 31, Nov 7 and Nov 14 markets are held as Hyogo Prefecture's "Hyogo Forest and Wood Use Fair", a collaboration between the prefecture's timber brand "Hyogo no Ki" and EAT LOCAL KOBE. The theme is thinking about forests, woodland, fields, food and daily life from the perspective of the river basin. Past editions have featured sales of products made from Hyogo timber and meals served on trays and chopsticks made from thinned wood. The October 2025 edition at Suma Beach also had a talk by people working with local wood (EAT LOCAL KOBE Radio) and games of kubb, a Swedish team game played with wooden pieces, on the sand. Exhibitors for the 2026 dates have not been announced.
