1. Glamping Resort Awaji | Akashi Kaikyō Bridge Views & a New Scenic Lookout

Awaji Island's first dome-tent glamping resort (opened GW 2021), located in Iwaya, Awaji City — right at the island's gateway. All 13 units sit on a hillside with an unobstructed ocean view of the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge. Each unit is independent with its own shower and toilet; 5 of the 13 units are pet-friendly.
In April 2026, a new scenic lookout was added to the property. During the day, you can take in sweeping views of the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge; after sunset, the lookout, steps, and pool area are bathed in illumination, creating a romantic atmosphere. A photo spot with an arch of bells framing the view is generating buzz online.
From April 25, a heart-shaped pool also opens (for guests only). At night the pool is lit up, giving it a completely different look from the daytime.

Every room has a private open-air bath, a fire pit, and an air-conditioned covered dining space. You can enjoy a truly private experience regardless of the weather.
For the BBQ main course, choose from the premium Awaji beef (sirloin or fillet) — one of just about 200 certified per year from the island's 17,000 cattle — or standard Awaji beef. A "Dog Dome" (1 group per day) is also available.

The standout feature is that all room types welcome dogs. A natural grass dog run and seasonal dog pool are free for guests. Dogs can also join for BBQ and breakfast.

4. Awaji Private Villa SCENE 88 | Pool, Sauna & Jacuzzi — Grand Opening GW 2026

A luxury villa in northern Awaji Island, Awaji City Sano, opening for the GW 2026 grand opening as a fully exclusive 1-group-per-day rental. Families, groups, and couples can enjoy a completely free-form stay without any other guests.
Three luxury facilities in one
- Private pool: Underwater lighting for a magical atmosphere at night; doubles as a cold plunge after the sauna

- Self-löyly sauna: Available any time of day, 24 hours
The interior has a 2-bedroom layout, each bedroom with its own toilet, washroom, and shower. The kitchen is equipped with a BALMUDA toaster, oven, kettle, rice cooker, and hot plate — perfect for a relaxed stay cooking with bring-your-own ingredients. A BBQ dinner plan is also available.

5. S.EAVES | 2-Group-Only Private Villa Where Only the Sea Is in View
The latest creation from kinoe, the company behind the notoriously hard-to-book S.STAIRS and S.CORRIDOR. Limited to 2 groups per day, approx. 72 m² — the design philosophy of removing every visual obstruction is applied throughout.
The terrace is intentionally left fenceless, creating a direct face-to-face encounter with the horizon. Large windows, a speaker system, a projector, and a Nintendo Switch are all included — plenty to fill a long, unhurried stay even without stepping outside.
A private restaurant limited to 1 group per day and a café & bar are on-site, so dining is fully private. S.STAIRS has hosted over 120 proposal stays per year; S.EAVES is designed with the same dedication to couples, anniversaries, and proposals.
6. THE PASONA natureverse retreat | Shigeru Ban Design, Private Hot Spring in Every Room (Opens 6/23)
Scheduled to open June 23, 2026. The design is by architect Shigeru Ban, also known for the Grand Roof Ring at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai. All 57 rooms include a private natural hot spring.
The concept goes beyond a luxury hotel — it's a "pre-disease retreat" focused on resetting the body through food, exercise, and sleep. Amenities include a wellness restaurant supervised by a Michelin-starred chef, a thalassotherapy spa, and health check services in collaboration with Kobe University Hospital Medical School.
The sensor bed technology exhibited at the Expo (automatically adjusting sleeping posture and recording body weight during sleep) is also planned for some rooms. Rates and reservations will be announced via the official website.
