Why You Should Visit

Asago's 48th summer festival closes out the season in Hyogo's Tajima region. Around 50 food and game stalls line the area near Asago Ground from mid-afternoon, and at 19:40 the fireworks begin — 1,850 shells across nine sequences, with a finale set to music by MISIA. Admission is free, and roughly 500 parking spaces are prepared nearby, making it an easy small-town fireworks night to reach by train or car.

FAQ

What time do the fireworks start?

From 19:40 to 21:00. Stalls open around 15:00, so many people arrive early, browse the stalls, then wait for the fireworks.

Is it cancelled if it rains?

In severe weather only the fireworks are postponed to the next day. The committee decides at 17:00 on the day and posts the result on the Asago City website.

Is there parking?

About 500 spaces in total near the venue. A free shuttle runs from the Asago Art Village Museum lot between 18:00 and 22:00. It does get congested, so the train is also a good option.

Is it good for families with children?

Yes — the stalls include ball-scooping, lucky draws and other kid-friendly games, and admission is free. It draws a lot of families.
