Why You Should Visit

An opening ceremony marking the start of Kinosaki Onsen's winter "Crab Kingdom" season, followed by a shouting contest in front of the station. The contest is open to visiting tourists of elementary-school age and up, first 50 people (up to 2 per family), who shout wearing the happi coat and hat provided. The top three and a humor award winner receive Tsuiyama crab. On 24 December, Crab Santa returns to the same station plaza with a "kani-kani roulette" Christmas giveaway of Matsuba crab and Kinosaki souvenirs.
