Why You Should Visit

An autumn series held on 13 weekends and holidays from late October to the end of November, centered on Michi-no-Eki Kannabe Kogen roadside station in Hidaka, Toyooka. The program changes every day: workshops for Christmas wreaths and shimenawa New Year ropes, shiitake log inoculation, soba-making, sales of local specialties and live music. Roasted sweet potatoes are on sale on almost every festival day, and November 15 coincides with the Kannabe Negi Festival. A handy stop on a drive up to the Kannabe plateau if you want a seasonal hands-on activity or some local shopping.
