Why You Should Visit

A one-night moon-viewing event at Suma Rikyu Park, where the Heian-era poet Ariwara no Yukihira is said to have gazed at the moon. Live performances run from 17:00 to 20:30 at the Fountain Plaza, including the one-stringed Suma koto, hula, jazz and erhu. At the Tsukimidai rest house, the Kobe University astronomy club sets up telescopes for moon observation, and there is also a tea gathering in the Japanese-style room and an evening yoga session at Shiomidai.
