Price & booking: Admission: ¥400 (age 15 and over) / ¥200 (elementary and junior high students). Free for Kobe residents aged 65+ and for high school students living or studying in Kobe, with ID. No booking needed to see the roses. Yoga, the Mölkky tournament and the orchid potting class require advance sign-up via the official event page.

Why You Should Visit

Suma Rikyu Park grows about 4,000 rose bushes of some 300 varieties, and in autumn around 3,000 plants of 200 varieties come into bloom. The centrepieces are the Rose Garden of Royalty and Nobility, planted with varieties named after imperial and royal families and artists, and the World Rose Hall of Fame garden. In the Garden of Rose History and Culture you can also see rose hips, which only appear in autumn. Park staff lead free rose walks on November 1, 8 and 15, and from November 7 the park stays open until 20:00 on weekends and holidays. A good choice if you want roses and autumn maples in one visit.

Is the park closed on any days?

The park closes on Thursdays (except holidays). During the show it opens specially on Thursday, November 19 and 26.

Can I see the roses in the evening?

From November 7 to December 6 the park stays open until 20:00 on weekends and holidays (last entry 19:30). On weekdays it closes at 17:00.
