Why You Should Visit

The one day a year when Kobe Customs opens its working headquarters by the port to the public. You can walk through spaces normally closed off, including the former VIP room and the rooftop with its view over Kobe Port. The building carries the design of the 1927 original and is one of Kobe's landmark works of modern architecture, often used as a filming location. Admission is free. The 2026 edition has been announced for Sunday 15 November, with the day's programme to be released in stages.
