On Monday, May 11, 2026, Inoue Seikoen — an olive and citrus farm from Shodoshima, Kagawa — opens its first directly-managed store in Kansai, in the Motomachi district of Kobe.

Kobe and Shodoshima: a long-standing olive connection

Shodoshima is widely known as Japan's foremost olive-growing island, but Kobe actually has an olive history that predates it by about 30 years. There is also a ferry route linking the two places, and the farm's owner has a personal connection to Kobe's central wholesale market. For these reasons, Kobe holds a special meaning for Inoue Seikoen — and it was a natural choice for the brand's first Kansai location.

The Motomachi store is designed as an experiential space where visitors can see, taste, and discover olive oil — not just buy it.

1. Olive oil tasting

A dedicated staff member will guide you through the differences in flavor and aroma, helping you find the olive oil that suits your taste. Tasting is suspended during the opening celebration period (May 11–June 10).

2. Soft-serve with flavored olive oil

Soft-serve with flavored olive oil

A milk-flavored soft-serve drizzled with one of Inoue Seikoen's original flavored olive oils. Choose from citrus lemon, navel orange, apple, and more — each bringing a different aroma and character to the dessert.

3. Store-exclusive products

The store stocks olive oil mini-bottles and limited-edition design olive oil confit not available through the brand's online shop — ideal as small gifts or souvenirs. Gift sets for various budgets are also available.

Opening celebration: 10% off all items May 11–June 10

For one month from the opening day, all products are 10% off (some exclusions apply), covering both culinary and cosmetic olive oils.
