Why You Should Visit

An eight-day flower and garden festival centred on Akashi Park, the castle park right beside Akashi Station. Now in its 34th year, the show fills the park and the station area with demonstration gardens built by local schools and groups plus the entries of the Garden Competition, all free to wander through. Around the gardens, a rotating programme runs through the week: tethered hot-air balloon rides, a beer garden under the trees, kids' gardening workshops, a moss exhibition and stalls selling local produce and plants.

Akashi Park's main gate is just north of Akashi Station (JR / Sanyo). By car, about 10 min from Okuradani IC on the Daini-Shinmei Road; paid prefectural car park inside the park

TICKETS / REGISTRATION

No booking needed to see the gardens. Some workshops (kids' gardening, moss walk, carnivorous plant class) need sign-up via the advance booking page. Balloon rides are fully booked

FAQ

Is there an entry fee?

Entry is free and you can walk through the gardens and stalls freely. Some workshops charge a fee and need sign-up.

Is the programme the same every day?

The gardens are on show all week, but balloons, kids' workshops, the moss exhibition and so on are on specific days. Check the event list on the official site for the day you plan to go.

Does it go ahead in rain?

The outdoor gardens can be seen in rain, but the balloons and some outdoor events may be cancelled or changed by weather. Updates are posted on the official site and LINE account.
