Why You Should Visit

An autumn festival held every year at Akashi Kaikyo National Government Park, on the northern tip of Awaji Island next to Awaji Yumebutai, timed to the cosmos and dahlia season. Wood crafts and volunteer-led flower tours run throughout, and in November the weekends bring "Floating Dahlias" on the water, free cosmos picking in the Rainbow of the Earth garden, and thoroughbred and pony rides. Entry is free for junior high students and younger, and most activities are free or a few hundred yen. A full day out for families who want flower fields, photos and hands-on activities.
