Price & booking: Monorail pier tour: free (registration required). Food and goods are priced by each vendor. The Monorail Pier Tour (Oct 24 & 25) takes bookings via the web application form from Saturday, Oct 10, first come first served, 60 people per day. No registration is mentioned for the other programs.

Why You Should Visit

An autumn festival at Tegarayama Heiwa Park in Himeji, running from late October through Culture Day (Nov 3). A stamp rally linking the park's aquarium, greenhouse botanical garden, peace museum and other facilities runs throughout, with a cosplay event and stage shows on the last weekend of October, and on Nov 3 the "Rakuichi Rakuza" day brings taiko drumming, dance, a kids' job-experience corner and food stalls. This year also marks 60 years since the Himeji monorail opened, with an anniversary exhibit and a rare look inside the preserved train's second car on the 3rd floor of Tegarayama Koryu Station. A good pick for families spending a day around the park.

Four stamps get you flower seeds; five or more get a can badge plus a prize. Exchange them at Tegarayama Koryu Station.

Which days have stage events and food stalls?

Oct 31 and Nov 1 feature the cosplay event and stage shows, and Nov 3 (holiday) is Rakuichi Rakuza, each 10:00–16:00. Food trucks are on site on these three days.
