Why You Should Visit

A one-day festival called "Nishikyo CONNECT", held on the riverside plaza right next to Hankyu Arashiyama Station to mark the 50th anniversary of Kyoto's Nishikyo Ward. Alongside food stalls from local cafes and bakeries linked to "Nishiterasu" (the ward's community information spots) and a stage program, there is plenty for kids: a bouncy castle, a bungee trampoline, a mini Hankyu train, a children's job-experience corner and old-style fair games. An easy stop for families on an Arashiyama day out.
