Czech Festival 2026 in Kyoto

Why You Should Visit

A three-day Czech culture festival in the plaza in front of Kyoto City Hall, marking 30 years since Kyoto and Prague became sister cities. The Czech Festival usually held in Sakai comes to Kyoto this year too. Stalls offer Czech beer, Moravian wine, Czech food and pastries, beads and crafts, while the stage runs music, the puppet show 'The Three Little Pigs' and talks on Czech novels and travel. Entry is free, and the venue sits right above a subway station.

Is there an entry fee?

Entry is free. Food and goods are bought at each booth.

Are the hours the same every day?

No. Saturday the 10th runs 14:00–20:00, Sunday the 11th 10:00–20:00, and the final day, Monday the 12th (holiday), 10:00–16:00.

What happens if it rains?

It goes ahead in rain and is cancelled only in severe weather.
