Do I need to book?

The organisers give no booking requirement for spectators. It is held in a plaza inside the station building, so you can simply head to the grand stairway during the event hours.

What happens if it rains?

It goes ahead in light rain. In wet weather the venue moves to the station square of Kyoto Station Building.

Is the music recorded?

No, every dance is accompanied by a live Hawaiian band, with live vocals and instruments for all of the roughly 140 groups.
