Why You Should Visit

Kyoto Night Market has filled the Ohigashisan Hiroba plaza in front of Higashi Hongwanji every month since June 2025, with more than 70 food trucks, food stalls, craft, goods and workshop booths. Vol.19 runs over two days, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November, from 15:00 to 22:00. Past editions have featured a traditional monkey performance, a ninja show, rickshaw rides, Kyo-yaki pottery painting and a kids' shopkeeper experience. Entry is free and it is a short walk from Kyoto Station.
