Why You Should Visit

Every autumn, yokai (Japanese spirits and monsters) take over the Edo-period streets of Toei Kyoto Studio Park in Uzumasa. The 2026 edition is the third, and the first since the park's March renovation. Under the theme "Dance! It's frightening!", choreographer TERUPOP has turned the Hyakki Yagyo night parade into a dance spectacle. On weekends and holidays there are two parades, one you can join and one to watch, plus a new daytime program, "Yokai Dance Live!", built around hand-clapping moves anyone can follow. On weekdays the yokai still roam the park for greetings, and there is a yokai art exhibition and limited-edition food. A Japanese-style alternative to Halloween that works well for families.

FAQ

Can I see the parade and dance live with a regular admission ticket?
Yes. The parades, dance live and greetings are included in admission with no extra charge. The ticket-plus-goods sets simply add limited-edition goods; the content is the same.
Will I see yokai if I visit on a weekday?
Yes. The Kaikai YOKAI Greeting runs daily; on weekdays the yokai appear around the park every hour from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The parades and dance live, however, are held only on weekends and holidays.
What happens if it rains?
Content may change or be cancelled depending on the weather, and the parade may switch to a rain version. Check the official website or social media on the day.
Is it suitable for children?
Children aged 3 to elementary school pay the child rate and under-3s are free. Yokai Dance Live! is built around hand-claps, so kids can join easily. The yokai costumes are realistic, so for easily frightened children the daytime programs are a gentler start.
