Why You Should Visit

The fifth Ayabe Autumn Festa takes place at Ayabe Nitto Seiko Arena, and this year it moves into the evening. The outdoor car-park stage runs from a children's fife and drum band and nankin tamasudare street performance through a tricycle race, Tsugaru shamisen, a hero show, a night-time bubble show and taiko drumming, before everyone gathers under the night sky at 19:30 for the finale. Inside the arena there is a model railway session, workshops and kids' yoga, with food and goods booths and an earthquake simulator truck outside. A good way for families to spend an autumn evening in northern Kyoto.

Does it go ahead in rain?

Yes, on a smaller scale. Locations and content change in rain.

What time can I get in?

Entry opens at 15:00; the car park is closed until then too. The stage starts at 15:30.

Is there much for children?

There is a tricycle race, a hero show with photo time, a bubble show, a model railway session, kids' yoga and an earthquake simulator, plus prize games for children from 19:35.
