Why You Should Visit

The follow-up to Chapter I, The Café Terrace at Night, which drew roughly 530,000 visitors to Kobe City Museum. Chapter II centers on The Langlois Bridge at Arles (1888), shown in Japan for the first time in about 70 years, and draws on the Kröller-Müller Museum collection to trace Van Gogh's final years in Arles, Saint-Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise. Galleries stay open until 20:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and through the Golden Week holidays, so an evening visit works too. The museum sits in the old foreign settlement, about a 10-minute walk from Sannomiya — an easy stop on a rainy day.
