Why You Should Visit
A two-day makers' fair bringing more than 250 creators from across Japan to KIITO, the converted former raw-silk inspection building near Kobe's port. Browse handmade accessories, homewares and stationery on the ground-floor hall and gallery, and talk with the people who made them. A giant live painting runs across both days, plus a capsule-toy machine stocked with exhibitors' work and a stamp rally. The 3rd National Design Championship runs alongside, where visitors' purchases decide which designs go into nationwide production. Being indoors, it fits easily into a December shopping day.
