Why You Should Visit

Part of Kobe's Kita Ward "bamboo project", this afternoon in Suzuran Park gathers 100 people to launch bamboo dragonflies (taketombo) into the air at the same time. Neglected bamboo groves have been spreading across Kita Ward, and the ward is putting that bamboo to use with a goal of setting a Japanese record for the most people flying bamboo dragonflies at once in 2027. This 100-person flight is one of the events leading up to that attempt, and food trucks and other booths will be set up on site. Taking part is free — a relaxed outdoor afternoon for families and anyone curious about the local project.

NOTE

If it rains
  • The event moves to Sat 5 December, 13:00–17:00, at the same park
