Why You Should Visit

An autumn harvest festival at Aina Satoyama Park, where thatched farmhouses and terraced rice paddies still stand. For one day only, on Sunday, Nov 8, the park lines up countryside activities: persimmon picking and making dried persimmons, a tasting of Aina's new-crop rice cooked in a traditional kamado stove, and hands-on time with animals from Rokkosan Pasture. In the afternoon, local groups perform rural kabuki on the farm-village stage, with a chance to try acting. Kids can also make bamboo crafts, badges and pine cone trees, and food stalls serve game dishes and handmade bread.
