Venus Bridge : Things to See & Do
The bridge takes its name from 1874, when a French expedition observed the transit of Venus from Mt. Suwa. Climb the emerald-green spiral and Kobe's streets and harbor spread out below. At the Venus Terrace viewpoint stands the "Love Key Monument," making this a favorite spot for couples. The daytime view is good, but the magic starts after sunset — for a free spot you can walk to, the view is hard to believe.
Figure-Eight Spiral Bridge
A 90-meter emerald-green spiral — a rare viewpoint where the bridge itself is the subject.
Night View on Foot
No ropeway or car needed — just a hillside walk from downtown to a free panorama of Kobe's lights and harbor.
Love Key Monument
A padlock monument at Venus Terrace — legend says couples who lock a key together will stay together.
