NOTE

From the organizer (KOBE ART SALONE Executive Committee)

"KOBE ART SALONE 2026 will be held from Sunday, November 1 to Tuesday (holiday), November 3, 2026.

For this second edition we once again use several notable buildings by architect Tadao Ando in Kobe's Kitano district as our stage. Together with artists from many fields, including installation, product design, painting and fashion, we aim to create and share works of art and connect artistic expression with society and the local community in new ways.

Kitano, once known as the cutting edge of fashion in the Kansai region, is dotted with Ando buildings, some of them normally closed to the public. Enjoy the architecture and the art together as you walk the neighborhood. We hope you look forward to encountering pioneering, experimental work from inside and outside the city."

• A symbol that carries many readings (meaning, concept, motif, sign) is the shared starting point, and the show deliberately sets no fixed concept or viewing experience
• Meaning is meant to emerge from the artists' work and from each visitor's own experience

Artists

<Rose Garden>

• Daichi Nakatani (painting): b. 1983, Toyonaka. Oil-pastel works on overlapping color and form; also a licensed architect
• Yoshitomo Ano (painting): Nara-based painter working mainly in drawing
• Naoya Moriwaki (fashion): b. 1997, founded the clothing brand comjoie in 2021

<KITANO Alley>

• ANNA SUNADA (product): studied product design in Milan, founded SAND DESIGN in 2021 and launched the jewelry brand RINMO in 2024
• Kana Hashimoto (illustration): visual artist drawing today's emotions and noise in a pop style with humor and a little venom
• Retsu Shirakawa (video / installation): b. 1994, copywriter and author who also makes installations on the Japanese language
• yuki tachibana (fashion): clothing artist working under the theme "clothes to dress up in"
• ISO1638400 (photography): shoots at ISO 1638400 and builds works from the resulting noise

<Rin's gallery (courtyard)>

• yuka masui (sculpture): started sewing-machine art in 2018, now works in installation and large-scale forms
