Price & booking: Free entry. Tasting tickets (book of 10): ¥1,400 advance / ¥1,700 on the day, with raffle entry Advance tasting books (¥1,400) via the official page, credit card only. Same-day books (¥1,700) at the venue, cash only.
Venue & access: Otemae-minami Parking Area, Tanba-Sasayama (south of Sasayama Post Office, about 3 min walk from the castle ruins) From Sasayamaguchi Station (JR Fukuchiyama Line), Shinki Bus to Nikaimachi, then about 5 min on foot. By car about 10 min from the Tanba-Sasayama IC; use nearby municipal car parks (no drinking and driving).

There are 1 car parks within a 12-minute walk of Otemae-minami Parking Area, Tanba-Sasayama (south of Sasayama Post Office, about 3 min walk from the castle ruins), and 3 public restrooms within 8 minutes. The map shows each with its walking time.

Why You Should Visit

Two days of paid tastings from the sake breweries of Tanba Sasayama, home of the Tanba toji brewmasters, held at a car park just south of the castle ruins. A book of 10 tasting tickets is ¥1,400 in advance (¥1,700 on the day) and includes a raffle entry. Food stalls use local Tanba ingredients, and there are talks by Tanba brewmasters and a blind-tasting challenge. October is also chestnut and black-soybean season, so it pairs well with a stroll around the castle town. Come by train or bus if you plan to drink.

Can I drive there?

Municipal car parks are nearby, but drivers cannot drink. The organiser recommends the bus from JR Sasayamaguchi Station to Nikaimachi.
