Why You Should Visit

The 11th and final edition of a family festival held on terraced rice fields at the foot of Mt. Kasagata in Ichikawa, Kanzaki District, run by the NPO Tanada LOVERS for ten years. The main day, October 25, runs from a short rice-harvesting session and running races on the paddies to a tug-of-war with a giant rope twisted from the fields' own rice straw, plus a market of local produce and food, live music and a talk session. Entry is free, though most participation needs advance registration. A good fit for families with small children who want to spend a day out in the autumn rice fields.
