Why You Should Visit

A free jazz festival at Kobe Harborland, run by a university student committee since 2007. Over two days, live jazz — mostly student bands — plays from morning to early evening at the underground Space Theater and the waterfront plaza in front of Culmeni. You can drop in mid-shopping or mid-stroll, catch just the sets you like and move on. The organizers' motto is to lift up Kobe and jazz through students' own hands, and that energy pairs well with the harbour views. An easy entry point for jazz newcomers and families alike.

Do I need a ticket?

No. Every stage is free, with no reservations or numbered tickets. Come whenever you like and stay for just the sets you want.

Is it cancelled if it rains?

Only the outdoor Culmeni front stage is cancelled. The underground Space Theater goes ahead regardless of weather, so you can still hear live jazz on a rainy day. Check the official social media for same-day decisions.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. It is free with open entry, so you can leave whenever the kids have had enough. The Culmeni front stage is an outdoor plaza next to shopping complexes such as umie and Mosaic, so there are plenty of places to rest or eat nearby.
