About a 5-min walk from Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station on the Tanimachi subway line. There is paid parking on the grounds, but it fills up on market days, so the train is the safer bet.

[What to bring] Cash — plenty of ¥1,000 notes and coins. A large bag and comfortable shoes make the rounds easier.

* A separate market, the Shitenkai Nomi-no-ichi, is held in the same precinct on the second Sunday of each month.

* The market may be cancelled in severe weather, and dates can shift around Obon and the New Year. Check the temple's monthly schedule page.
