Why You Should Visit

A Saturday-night market in the arcade of Shinsekai Ichiba, a shopping street at the foot of Tsutenkaku that has run for over a century. Launched in 2019 and halted by the pandemic in 2020, the night market came back on September 5, 2026 after a six-year gap. Alongside the market's eight permanent food stalls, a rotating line-up sets up each week—on September 19 that means 19 booths, from mojitos and Indian curry to offal, wild-game gyoza, sundubu, yakitori, cheap-drinks counters and a vintage-clothes café. Lanterns light the arcade and the mood is close to an Asian night market: drink a little, eat a little, move on. Under the arcade roof, so it runs in rain.
