Why You Should Visit

A neighborhood event held at Kofukuji, a small temple in Nagata Ward, by the Shin-Nagata Seikatsu Kongo Ichi team. This edition's theme is "Let's Play at the Temple! Yokai Halloween?!" and costumes are welcome. Entry is free, with DJ sets (mikio, rocknrollrecord) and dance (Shoko Fukushima). For 500 yen you can buy a stamp card, work through six games, and clear them all to earn a turn at senbon-biki, a traditional pull-a-string lucky draw. It is run by local parents on the organizing committee. No food is served on site, but a map of nearby shops is provided, so it pairs well with a stroll around Shin-Nagata's old downtown.
