Why You Should Visit

A neighborhood summer festival at Shimoyamate Park, at the foot of Okurayama in Kobe's Chuo ward. Food stalls fill the park across two evenings, opening at 5pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday. The bon-odori around the yagura tower runs on the Saturday only, from 6:30pm to 8pm, and newcomers are welcome to join the circle. Play activities for children are also planned. It's a small, local affair — the kind of festival you walk to in a yukata.

No. Admission is free — just come to the park during the event hours. Food and drinks at the stalls are paid.

Can I come by bike or car?

Is it good for families with children?

Yes. The venue is a neighborhood park with food stalls plus a children's play booth. Beginners are welcome to join the dance circle.
