Price & booking: Adults 1,200 yen / university and high school students 600 yen (ID required) / free for junior high and under, Osaka City residents 65+ (ID required) and disability certificate holders. Included in the regular castle admission (incl. Toyotomi stone-wall museum) No reservation needed; the castle admission ticket covers the exhibition (official online tickets available)
Venue & access: Osaka Castle Main Tower, 3F–4F Exhibition Rooms About 15–20 min on foot from Exit 1-B of Tanimachi 4-chome Station (Osaka Metro Tanimachi / Chuo lines) or from JR Morinomiya Station. By car, take the Hoenzaka exit of Hanshin Expressway Route 13 to the Osakajo-koen Station car park

Why You Should Visit

A special exhibition at Osaka Castle's main tower on what "siblings" meant to the warlords of Japan's Sengoku period. Drawing on the castle's own collection, it shows brothers and sisters who propped up their houses together, those who fell into feuds, and those parted by marriage alliances. The exhibition is on floors 3 and 4 and is included in the regular admission, so you can combine it with the 8F observation deck and the Toyotomi stone-wall museum. Some exhibits change between the first and second halves of the run.

FAQ

Is there a separate fee for the special exhibition?

No. It is included in the regular Osaka Castle admission (1,200 yen for adults).

Are there closed days during the exhibition?

No. Partial closures of the exhibition rooms are only on Oct 8–9 (before) and Nov 24–25 (after); the castle is open every day during the run.

What changes between the first and second halves?

Some exhibits are swapped on Nov 3. The rooms stay open, and both periods can be visited as usual.
