Why You Should Visit

An annual autumn festival for Three Kingdoms fans in Shin-Nagata, the Kobe neighbourhood linked to manga artist Mitsuteru Yokoyama, whose "Sangokushi" series made the story famous in Japan. This year marks the 20th edition. Held around the KOBE Tetsujin Sangokushi Gallery, it features an animal Three Kingdoms show, a 100-question Three Kingdoms quiz, talks, games and merchandise stalls. Most of it is free to watch, and the gallery itself is free to enter on the day. A paid, reservation-only evening banquet follows for fans who want to keep the conversation going. A good stop if you are exploring Shin-Nagata's old-town shopping streets.
