Why You Should Visit

Begun in 1947 and now in its 80th edition, the Nantan fireworks fall at the autumn equinox, earning the name "Ohigan fireworks". Three thousand shells, including 2-go rounds, rise from the Yagi Oigawa riverbed, with a Niagara set piece mirrored on the water as the signature. A lantern floating and a drone light show precede the fireworks, and the food stalls open at 15:00. Free to attend, five minutes' walk from JR Yagi Station.
