Reserved seating (Shinko Pier No.1): 2,200 yen, all seats assigned.
Handling fees apply: 165 yen per paper ticket, 110 yen per e-ticket.
Children aged 3 and under are free (on a guardian's lap).
Venue & access: Meriken Park (free area) / Shinko Pier No.1 (ticketed area) Meriken Park (free area): Kobe Municipal Subway Kaigan Line, Minato-Motomachi Station (Exit 2), about 8 min walk. JR Kobe Line / Hanshin Motomachi Station (East Exit), about 13 min walk. Port Loop / City Loop bus to Meriken Park stop.
Shinko Pier No.1 (ticketed area): about 20 min walk from JR / Hankyu / Hanshin Sannomiya stations, or Port Loop bus to Shinko-cho stop.
Roads around the venue are closed to traffic, so driving to the site is not possible.

Why You Should Visit

Five nights, twenty minutes each — and Kobe's harbour lights up. Minato HANABI returns for its fifth anniversary with fireworks every evening from October 19 to 23. Launched from a barge offshore Meriken Park and set to music and lasers, each display is brief but vivid. Street performances start at 16:30 and a live music session follows the fireworks, so the waterfront stays busy from late afternoon into the night. Watching from Meriken Park is free; reserved seats (2,200 yen) are sold for the ticketed area on Shinko Pier No.1.

FAQ

Is there an admission or viewing fee?

Viewing from Meriken Park is free. If you would rather sit, reserved seats on Shinko Pier No.1 cost 2,200 yen and are sold through Lawson Ticket.

Is anything happening before and after the fireworks?

KOBE Machinaka Performance runs 16:30-17:00 and a live music session, Meriken Music Nights!, follows the fireworks from 18:50 to 19:30. It also helps spread out the crowds leaving the site.

Can I drive to the venue?

Roads around the venue are closed to all vehicles including taxis and tour buses, and car parks inside the restricted zone cannot be entered or exited. Visitors are asked to come by public transport.

Are there food stalls or vendors on site?

No food stalls or food trucks are planned. It might be worth grabbing a bite at Harborland or Motomachi nearby beforehand.

What happens if it rains?

The event runs in light rain but is cancelled in severe weather. Cancellations are announced on the official website, and reserved-seat tickets are refunded. Umbrellas are not allowed in the ticketed area, so bring a rain poncho.
