Why You Should Visit

A two-day festival of yosakoi dance teams from across Japan, centred on Taiyo-no-Hiroba in Osaka Castle Park. The theme for the 27th edition in 2026 is "A hundred smiles, connected without limit". University clubs and local teams take the stage in six-minute slots one after another, with the finale from 16:30 on the 13th. Beyond the four sites inside Osaka Castle Park, performances run at Kyobashi, Kuzuha, Suehiro Park in Daito, Osaka Bay Tower in Bentencho and Esaka in Suita. Food stalls line the main site.

NOTE

There are nine sites. Four sit inside Osaka Castle Park: the Taiyo-no-Hiroba main stage, the yagura stage, Kyoikuto-mae and Kinenju-no-Mori. Outside the park are Kyobashi Koitomo, Kuzuha (Hirakata, Kuzuha Station), Suehiro Park (Daito, Suminodo Station), Osaka Bay Tower (Bentencho Station) and Esaka (Suita).

The running order and times for every site are in the official guidebook for the 27th festival, distributed through the official site. If you are following a particular team, check its site and slot there first.

Is there an admission fee?

No admission fee is announced. All the sites are parks or public squares, and food at the stalls is charged separately.

Which site should I go to?

Taiyo-no-Hiroba in Osaka Castle Park has the most teams and stalls, running from the morning on both days. The outlying sites split by day: Kyobashi, Kuzuha and Suehiro Park on the 12th, Osaka Bay Tower and Esaka on the 13th. If you are following a particular team, check the running order in the official guidebook first.
