Why You Should Visit

An autumn festival spread across Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park, the site of Expo '90, with exhibitor booths, a stage and a marche at several points in the park. The headline is the 2nd T-Rex Race on the Great Lawn: entrants in inflatable dinosaur suits run heats and finals in six classes from preschoolers to adults. New this year is the "T-Rex Collection", a stage show at the Annex Exhibition Ground where suited-up dinosaurs pose and perform. Browsing the booths and marche costs nothing, and the park is right outside Tsurumi-ryokuchi Station, so it works well as a full day out with children.

FAQ

Can I enjoy it without entering the race?
Yes. Watching is free and so is entry. Exhibitor booths, the stage, the marche, inflatables and the pony corner around the park need no booking.
Can I rent a T-Rex suit?
Bringing your own is the rule. Rentals are 20 adult and 20 junior suits per day at ¥1,000, but adult rentals are already full on both days. There are no rentals for preschoolers.
What if it rains?
It goes ahead in light rain but is cancelled in severe weather or when a weather warning is issued. Outdoor programmes may move or be cancelled, so check the park's website or social media on the day.
Can I drive there?
Yes, the park has several paid car parks including Central No.1 (760 spaces), with a weekend daily cap of ¥1,400 there. To avoid queues, the train to Tsurumi-ryokuchi Station is the surer option.
