Why You Should Visit

A music, food and art festival that takes over the whole Gamo-yonchome neighborhood — locally called "Gamoyon" — in Osaka's Joto Ward. Now in its 11th year, it puts 138 acts on 20 venues: a special stage on the shopping street plus restaurants, cafés, bars and galleries. 54 eateries take part and the market has 67 booths. No ticket is needed and entry is free, so you can hop between spots and catch live sets along the way. Last year drew 6,987 visitors. Good for anyone who likes wandering a local neighborhood with live music in the background.
