Why You Should Visit

The autumn edition of Osaka's park plant markets, held since 1952. For about a month, five nurseries set up between the Morinomiya entrance of Osaka Castle Park and the fountain, selling garden trees, seedlings, flowers, succulents, bonsai, houseplants, pots and soil. A free gardening advice desk opens on Sundays and holidays, and there are bargain days, a free seedling giveaway and a moss-ball workshop. It is right by the station, so easy to combine with a walk around the castle.

It runs every day of the period, but stalls may close temporarily in bad weather. The advice desk and workshop are cancelled in rain.

Do I have to carry purchases home myself?

Delivery availability and terms differ by stall. For large garden trees, ask the stall when buying.
