Why You Should Visit

Held every October at Futatabi Park, this is a festival for the forests of Mt. Rokko. Around 30 groups that work on the mountain gather in front of the log house with hands-on activities: log sawing, hydrangea planting, short guided hikes, and crafts using nuts, cones and bamboo. On stage, the pianist who composed Mt. Rokko's image song gives a concert. There is a quiz rally around the booths and food trucks, and taking part is free. The festival began in 2002 to mark 100 years of reforestation on Mt. Rokko, and it suits families who want to spend a day in the woods.
