Why You Should Visit

An arts festival on Culture Day that aims for "international exchange of the heart" through songs and dances from around the world, held in the grounds of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine above Kobe's Kitano foreign-residence district. Groups take turns performing chorus, healing music, belly dance, Chinese ethnic-minority dance and Korean dance, and stalls selling goods and food line the grounds. Entry is free and it goes ahead in light rain, so it fits easily into a walk around the Ijinkan houses.
