Why You Should Visit

A free music-and-disaster-preparedness festival at Meriken Park, now in its fourth year. Live stages featuring Rake, d-iZe and KAY-I run alongside hands-on preparedness corners such as evacuation-equipment trials, CPR practice and disaster games. Vehicles from the Self-Defense Forces and police, a fire boat and heavy rescue machinery are on display, with around 20 food trucks on site.

Program areas: MUSIC (live stage) / DANCE / FOOD (about 20 food trucks) / SPORTS / BOSAI (disaster-preparedness workshops)

Hands-on preparedness (by Yobodan): evacuation equipment, initial firefighting and CPR, emergency alarms, home preparedness, disaster games, pet preparedness

On display: Self-Defense Force vehicles, police vehicles, a Kobe City Fire Bureau fire boat, heavy machinery for disaster response

LIGHT UP KOBE: a blue-light finale (details of any giveaway are not listed officially)

Is there an admission fee?

Admission is free. Food from the trucks and merchandise are charged separately.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. Disaster games, evacuation-equipment trials and vehicle displays give children plenty to do.

What happens if it rains?

It is an outdoor event, so severe weather may change or cancel the program. Decisions on the day are announced on the official website and Instagram.
