Why You Should Visit

An annual bon odori dance festival held at Kitamido (Hongwanji Tsumura Betsuin) in Honmachi, Osaka. Dancers move to live Kawachi Ondo folk singing performed by renowned singer Kawachiya Kikusuimaru — a genuinely local Osaka take on the summer tradition. Food stalls and carnival-style games like shooting galleries and super-ball scooping line the temple grounds, and a baby room makes it easy to bring young children.
