About a 5-min walk from Kinosaki-Onsen Station (JR San'in Line). On the days, the town center (the road between Tsukimi Bridge and Jizoyu Bridge) is closed to vehicles. Temporary parking is at Kinosaki Elementary School (14th 14:00–21:00, 15th 9:00–22:00).

There are 1 car parks within a 12-minute walk of Kinosaki Onsen town (Shisho Shrine and around), and 5 public restrooms within 8 minutes. The map shows each with its walking time.

NOTE

How the festival works

The centre of the hot spring town is divided at Shisho Shrine into the upper district and the middle and lower districts. The upper district’s float, called the “dai,” accompanies the shrine’s portable shrine, and it clashes with the middle and lower districts’ danjiri in bouts called “seri.” Seri take place around town over the two days, climaxing on the evening of the 15th in front of Ichinoyu (Ohashi Bridge).

• Some ryokan do not take reservations on the two festival days
• The main street through the town is closed to traffic for long periods, so public transport is recommended
