Why You Should Visit

For two evenings, the west-bank riverside path between Sanjo-Ohashi and Shijo-Ohashi becomes an open-air fair of Kyoto crafts and regional produce. Textile associations sell traditional wares, towns from across Kyoto Prefecture bring local specialties, and prefectural associations from around Japan set up hometown-product stalls. There is also a demonstration of yuzen-nagashi, the rinsing of hand-dyed Kyo-Yuzen cloth in water. Food stalls line the route, so you can eat as you stroll in the river breeze. Admission is free. In 2026 there are no stage performances, for crowd-safety reasons.

FAQ

Is there an admission fee?
Admission is free and no booking is needed — you can walk the riverside freely. Food and goods are paid for at each stall.
Are there stage performances?
No. For 2026 the organizers have dropped stage events for crowd-safety reasons. The focus is on craft and regional-product stalls plus the yuzen-nagashi demonstration.
What happens if it rains?
The venue is an open riverbed, so severe weather may change or cancel the program. Check the official site or social accounts on the day.
Is there parking?
There is no parking at the venue. The nearest stations are Hankyu Kyoto-kawaramachi and Keihan Gion-Shijo for the Shijo-Ohashi end, and Sanjo-Keihan and Keihan Sanjo for the Sanjo-Ohashi end — each about a 3-minute walk.
