Price & booking: Free admission. Paid tastings from one cup (about 60cc). Those who buy Izushi-yaki receive a free tasting ticket (while supplies last). No drinking for anyone under 20, drivers, or those pregnant or breastfeeding. The National Sake-Tasting Championship (Hyogo qualifier) takes advance applications (deadline July 26, capacity 50, lottery if oversubscribed) or same-day sign-up (first 20). Apply via the Toyooka City page. The top two advance to the national final in Tokyo in November as Hyogo's representatives (travel and lodging covered).
Venue & access: Toyooka City Izushi Office, Civic Hall & Front Plaza Stage About 45 min by Zentan Bus (Izushi–Toyooka line) from JR Toyooka Station, get off at "Izushi." About 25 min by car or taxi.

Why You Should Visit

A two-day fair pairing Izushi-yaki — the white porcelain of the castle town of Izushi — with the local sake of the Tajima region. Izushi-yaki sake vessels are on sale alongside tastings and sales of around 25 local sake labels, including sake brewed from Izushi-grown "Fukunohana" rice. On the first afternoon, the Hyogo qualifier of the National Sake-Tasting Championship is also held. A grown-up outing for those who want to enjoy the vessel and the sake together, and an easy stop while sightseeing in Izushi.

Can I go by car?
