Why You Should Visit

An autumn event in Izushi, the castle town known for its sara-soba, where you can taste new-harvest soba made from buckwheat grown locally that year. It runs on two weekdays at the plaza in front of the Izushi Branch Office. The usual "freshly ground, freshly made, freshly boiled" becomes the "four fresh" this season, with "freshly harvested" added, and the noodles come Izushi-style on five small plates with a set of condiments. A good stop for anyone strolling the old castle town who wants to catch the season's first soba.

NOTE

On the day
