Why You Should Visit

An autumn festival held every November 3 (Culture Day) in Izushi, the old castle town of the Tajima region. In past years the highlights around the Izushi Castle ruins have been a children's feudal-lord procession and the daimyo procession with spear-throwing, where retainers in period costume toss decorated spears to one another as they march. Local folk performances and a rice-cake scattering round out the day, making it an easy family outing combined with a stroll through the castle town. Held in light rain. Details of the 2026 programme have not yet been announced.

Take a Zentan Bus from JR Toyooka Station and get off at "Izushi." By car, use the municipal or private car parks nearby.
