Why You Should Visit

In the bay at Ine, famous for its funaya boathouses, about 1,300 shells rise from a barge moored at its centre. The sight is particular to Ine: the boathouse lights and the fireworks reflected together on the water. Around the show, the funaya are lit with lanterns for the "Naminarie", and a film is screened on a floating screen. This 40th edition falls on 29 August, and general viewing is free.

FAQ

Can I set up a tripod?
Only inside the paid area. Tripods, monopods and step stools are banned everywhere else at the main site and Ineura Park, and are removed on sight. The 2026 paid spaces (10,000 yen each, 17 in total) closed to applications on 31 July.
Will I find parking?
Every car park fills before the fireworks begin. Once full, the roads from Route 178 into the main site close and you cannot watch from anywhere nearby. Arrive early, including for the free lots at the Michi-no-Eki (15 min walk) and the town hall (32 min).
Is it cancelled in rain?
Light rain is fine. If warnings make firing unsafe it is cancelled, with the rain date the next day, Sunday 30 August.
